Hamlet Through a Feminist Lens by Connor D’Angelo

In Essential Frameworks, Lessons and Ideas, media literacy, Professional Development, Secondary

This engaging Grade 11 lesson from AQ grad Connor D’Angelo brings Shakespeare’s Hamlet to life by comparing the written play with its 1996 film adaptation. Through a feminist lens, students explore gender, power and relationships, while examining how camera angles, acting and other filmmaking choices influence our understanding of characters and shape different interpretations.

Connor is a teacher in the Toronto District School Board.
